The
Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg produced widened floorpans for the Karmann
Ghia (VW Type 14).
The iconic oval-window Beetle being assembled at Volkswagen's Wolfsburg
factory, circa 1954. Note the overhead conveyors lowering the freshly
painted car bodies onto the assembly lines below.
A
very nice colour view of Volkswagen Transporter final assembly at the
Hannover plant in 1966.
The
completed body of an oval-window sunroof Beetle is carefully lowered onto
its allocated chassis and running gear for the Hochzeit in the final assembly
hall at Volkswagenwerk Wolfsburg.
1947
models rolling off the production line in Wolfsburg. This early in the
history of the Beetle, most, if not all, of the cars made were going to
the Allied forces throughout Germany.
Another
large import of new cars from Wolfsburg is pictured in the 1950s arriving
at Porsche Salzburg, the official national importer for Volkswagen in
Austria.
Volkswagen
and Mercedes made by P.T. German Motor Manufacturing, Wanaherang plant,
around 60 km from Jakarta, Indonesia - 1976.
Another
consignment of new Volkswagens arrives from Germany at an unknown port
about 1969 or 1970. The ship's derricks are being used to transfer the
cars from the hold to the quayside.

A
press photo of an early VW T2 Transporter taken inside the Volkswagen
plant in Palma Sola, Venezuela, around 1969-1970. In the background, we
see both a Type 1 Beetle and a Type 3 Variant during body assembly.
1966
model year Volkswagen Type 3 bodyshells at the Wolfsburg plant, including
some Fastback models which had just been introduced, plus Type 1 bodies
in the background.
The ultimate spare part? Complete split and oval-window bodyshells stacked
at Volkswagenwerk Wolfsburg, so likely to be from March 1953 to mid-1950s.

1963

The
body on the line in the foreground appears to be heading for the US or
Canadian market and has been fitted out with glass, bumpers, interior
and exterior trim, electrics, turn signals and headlamp glasses.
The
final assembly hall at the Karmann factory in Osnabrück in the late
1960s. On the left appears to be a Porsche 912 which were built at the
Karmann plant from 1966 to 1969.

A
beautiful 1950 panel van in Dove Blue parked on Südstraße in
front of the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg.
Volkswagen
factory employees at the end of their shift cross Südstrasse to make
their way to the bridge over the Mittellandkanal linking the plant with
the city of Wolfsburg, sometime in the 1960s.
With
the light of its headlamps reflected on the tiled floor of final assembly
Hall 12, another new Volkswagen is driven off the production line and
off to the rolling road test stands at the Wolfsburg factory in 1968.
